7.        Operational/Departmental Performance:

Responsible for suggesting the organizational strategies related primarily to provider of choice and employer of choice. This encompasses working with the Medical Director, leadership, and staff to ensure quality of operations and outstanding educational experiences, creating an unrivaled internal culture, including marketing and branding of that culture for the organization to thrive. Responsible for meeting established outcomes and performance goals. Creates, measures and monitors operational performance standards.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements:

  • Currently licensed in the State of Michigan as an EMT or Paramedic (minimum), IC Preferred
  •  Bachelor’s Degree in business, EMS, or related field; Masters preferred
  • Must have 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Must be available for recall 24 hours a day for emergency situations
  • Respond to mass casualty/disaster/large scale events impacting the division; support other divisions as required
  • Flexibility in work schedule to meet demands of the company
  •  Possess FEMA NIMS IC-100.b, 200.b, 700 & 800.b upon hire
  • Obtain NIMS ISC 300 and 400 within one year
  • Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver license and maintain an acceptable driving record as defined by MMR’s insurance carrier
  • Ability to drive in accordance with MMR standards. Pass all driver examinations, both written and road tests
  • Knowledge of clinical skills in basic and advanced life support
  • Ability to exercise authority with logic and consistency
  • Ability to objectively and accurately evaluate performance of subordinates
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations and laws pertaining to EMS and ambulance operations
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in the English language
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to gain respect from others
  • Ability to minimize stress while on duty by identifying problems before they occur and effectively deal with stressful situations that occur
  • Knowledge of business, management and fiscal skills. Demonstrate ability to implement these skills
  • Advanced computer skills including the ability to utilize a computer PC with Windows operating system
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including but not limited to, copier, fax machine, scanner, monitor, multi-line telephone, printer, typewriter and calculator
  • Skilled in typing, data entry, electronic filing and document retrieval
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and EMS reports, and EPCR
  • Know the key concepts and variables that define the ambulance industry (critical issues, economic vulnerabilities, measurements, information sources, etc.)
  • Know the strategy, structure, networks, financial position and systems of MMR
  •  Must complete initial and annual Bloodborne Pathogens Training
  • Must be at least 18 years old
